Abdul Rehman Memon or A. R. Memon is a Pakistani electrical engineer and eminent educator of Pakistan. He has been a Founding Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology and a professor of electrical engineering at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=mehran university administration )〕where he also served as the Vice Chancellor. He served two tenures in the MUET for about 9 years. During his tenure the university made several changes including controlling student politics, introducing the semester-back system, and getting ISO 2001 certification. After his retirement from the university, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (FEST) at Hamdard University in Karachi and on board emerged BE, ME and PhD programs in Engineering at HIET & GSESIT under FEST at both the campuses of Hamdard University in Karachi and Islamabad. Presently he is serving as Rector at Newports Institute of Communications and Economics. Dr. Abdul Rehman Memon is Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from City University London. M.Sc. (Electronic Circuit and System Engineering) from Bath University of Technology, England and is a registered Professional Engineer with Pakistan Engineering Council in the discipline of Electrical Engineering (ELECT/2328). He carries a comprehensive experience in the field of teaching and research that spans over 50 years. He has worked in Malaysia as a Senior Faculty and has been there for post-doctorate research work as well; and is also familiar well Basha Malaysia. He has an extensive and comprehensive experience of Educational Planning and Management in various specialization and fields of higher education. In October, 2014, he received prize for the best University Research 2013 from the Federation Universities of Islamic World, Rabat, Morocco. He continues to guide PhD research students in Engineering and himself is engaged in a research to ‘Telescope The Quran in the light of Engineering Applications.
